Deitres S.A. privacy policy
Last Updated: February 29, 2024
Respecting your privacy is part of our core values. Since we started Deitres S.A., we have been committed to developing our services based on strong privacy principles.
Citymesh provides a communication system and remote management of Alarm panels that includes features for medical and security emergency alerts, such as panic button, geolocation for emergency assistance, access control, internal monitoring, and other services to users worldwide. The City Alarme application and other available web tools complement the processes of security service providers using Citymesh.
Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices, including the messages we collect and how they affect you. It also details the measures we take to protect your privacy, such as developing City Alarme so that messages are not stored and giving you control over whom you communicate with on our services.
When we say “City Alarme,” “Citymesh,” “Deitres,” “our,” “us,” or “we,” we mean Deitres S.A.. This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to all our applications, services, features, software, and website (collectively, “Services”) unless otherwise indicated.
Information Collected
City Alarme receives or collects information from our users when we operate and provide our Services, including during the installation, access, or use of our Services.
Information You Provide
Account information. You provide your mobile phone number to create a City Alarm account. You provide us with the phone numbers from your mobile phone’s address book regularly, including those of users of our Services and other contacts from your mobile phone’s address book. You confirm that you are authorized to provide us with such numbers. You can also add other information to your account, such as a profile name, profile picture, and status message.
Your messages. We do not retain your messages during the normal provision of our Services. Once your messages are delivered (including your chats, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, and location information), they are deleted from our servers. Your messages are stored on your own device. If a message cannot be delivered immediately (for example, if you are offline), we may store it on our servers for up to 30 days while we attempt to deliver it. If a message has not been delivered after 30 days, we delete it. To improve performance and deliver multimedia messages more efficiently, such as when many people share a popular photo or video, we may retain such content on our servers for a longer period.
Customer support. You may provide us with information related to your use of our Services, including copies of your messages and how to contact you so we can offer our customer support service. For example, you may send us an email with information related to the performance of our application or other issues.
Automatically Collected Information
Usage and log information. We collect information related to performance, diagnosis, and service. This includes information about your activity (such as how you use our Services, how you interact with others through our Services, and similar data), log files, as well as performance, website, failure, and diagnostic reports and records.
Transaction information. If you pay for our Services, we may receive information and confirmations, such as payment receipts, including those from app stores or third parties processing your payment.
Connection and device information. We collect specific information from your device when you install, access, or use our Services. This includes information such as hardware model, operating system information, browser information, IP address, and mobile network information, including phone number and device identifiers. We collect information about your device’s location if you use our location features, as well as when you choose to share your location with your contacts, view nearby places, or those shared with you by others, and similar for diagnostic and troubleshooting purposes, for example, if you experience difficulty with our location-sharing feature.
Cookies. We use cookies to operate and provide our Services, which includes providing our web-based Services, improving your experiences, understanding how our Services are used, and personalizing our Services. For example, we use cookies to provide City Alarm for computer and other web-based services. We may also use cookies to understand which frequently asked questions from our help service are most popular and to show you relevant content related to our Services. Additionally, we may use cookies to remember your choices, such as your language preferences, and also to personalize our Services for you.
Third-Party Information
Information others provide about you. We receive information that other people provide to us, which may include information about you. For example, when other users you know use our Services, they may provide your phone number from their mobile phone’s contact list (as you may provide theirs), or they may send you a message, send messages to groups you belong to, or call you.
External providers. We work with external providers who help us operate, provide, improve, understand, personalize, and market our Services, as well as offer support services for our Services. For example, we work with companies to distribute our applications, offer our infrastructure systems, delivery, and others, provide map and location information, process payments, help us understand how people use our Services, and market our Services. These external providers may provide us with information about you in certain circumstances; for example, app stores may send us reports that help us diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the service.
Third-party services. We allow you to use our Services in connection with third-party services. If you use our Services with such third-party services, we may receive information about you from them.
Collection and use of location in the background
City Alarm uses your device’s location in the background, when the application is not in use, for the following purposes:
-
Assistance functions: Your location information is used for functions such as Secure Access, Panic Button, and Medical Emergency. These functions provide assistance at your current location, depending on the service contracted between the user and the security company.
-
Location collection: The application collects your location in the background, even when it’s not in use, to have it available before an emergency request or in case of issues with location capture.
-
Sending location in emergencies: If you activate this feature, City Alarm will send your current location to emergency services when you request medical or security assistance. This makes it easier for emergency services to locate you quickly.
-
Registration and geolocation functions of the CityMesh Device during installation: During installation or equipment change, when the user of the City Alarm application has a technical profile, the application has a function that allows registering the location to inform the administrative management platform and the monitoring of the CityMesh equipment network.
Note: City Alarm only uses your location in the background for the mentioned functions and does not share it with third parties without your consent.
Consent for location collection: By selecting “Accept” in City Alarm, you agree that the application collects and uses your location in the background. You can manage the activation and deactivation of location collection in your device settings and decline when City Alarm requests confirmation.
